Will.i.am and the Technology Revolution

In this blog post I want to show you some of Will.i.am's innovative ideas and technology incorporated in his music videos and live performances.

Will.i.am is one of my favorite artists, not only because he is an excellent musician but also because he is a pioneer when it comes to technology and innovation.

This technology advocate perceived a gap between fashion and technology and this drove him to pursue a new project. He created  i.am+, a company which focuses in connecting design and functionality using the integration of fashion and wearable technology.

Check out some examples of his innovative ideas:

Warning: Get prepared to be blown away!

I encourage you to watch Inside Will.i.am's idea factory and see how this musician and tech entrepreneur wants to be a role model and inspire kids to pursue a technology career.

This dreamer with a mission, wants to state that he is a living proof that a good education and the interest in STEM skills (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) can change a life.

Augmented Reality

Augmented reality is a technology that integrates the real world with computer-generated experiences. It is very exciting to know that virtual reality is in the process of being incorporated in our everyday environment, this means that being interactive and connected will be more fun.

Some examples of the use of augmented reality:

It is tea time!

When it is cold, drinking a hot and delicious tea sounds like a great plan. I was looking for some cool ideas on how to have fun while drinking tea and I found some interesting choices. Here are some of my favorite ones:

A Solar-Powered Bike Path

Did you ever imagine to bike with the stars? Well, Studio Roosegaarde, a social design lab from the Netherlands created a Van Gogh inspired bike path. This kilometer-long path is covered with a special paint that gathers solar light throughout the day and glows at night.

This is the second smart highways research project of Daan Roosegaarde aiming to create safer and energy efficient roads.

If you are ready, take a look of what this road and look at the path:

We are going to have some data from a speeding comet!

How amazing is to know that as humans we can accomplish amazing things. Today the Rosetta mission made history by landing the first aircraft on a speeding comet.

The whole mission was 7 hours long - I cannot imagine all the nerves and excitement from the scientists and the whole team in Darmstadt, Germany.

If you want to know about what is happening closely with the mission, I encourage you to follow them on Twitter: @ESA_Rosetta.

I can't wait for all the data that this mission is getting together!

Happy Halloween!

I hope you had a great Halloween. But if you are still planning to go party and keep celebrating today,  I have some amazing ideas for you - It is never too late to make fun costumes.

-Use a smartphone as part of your outfit: You can download a free app (Morphsuits) created by Digital Dutz from the apple store and use their animated creations to scare other people!

-You can be a stick figure, dress all black using a neon color paint fine lines on your clothes.

-Or the fastest and easiest- use makeup to create a spooky look! :)
